Grandma Hua, a Hakka born in Dongshi in 1941, has two sisters and three younger brothers. When she was 7 years old, she was sold to Zhuolan as a child bride-in-law to assist in the farming. After that, her family moved to Kaohsiung, and it was hard to see her family again
A car accident in 2015 caused her husband's mobility problems and she could not walk on her right foot. Because her family could not take care of her, she could only stay in the nursing home, and soon she was hospitalized with pneumonia. After diagnosed respiratory failure and unable to get out of the ventilator, she took tracheotomy and was transferred to the respiratory care ward of this hospital for six years.

On April 10th, sweeping away from the haze of the previous few days, the weather turned sunny again. At 8 o'clock in the morning, the small ward was flooded by grandma Hua’s husband, children, grandchildren, sister-in-law, and siblings from Kaohsiung. The quiet ward was instantly filled with noisy voices. Her husband presented a bunch of delicate flowers to thank grandma for her efforts of 60 marriage years. At this time, grandma couldn’t hide a smile. After the medical team carefully checked each index, instrument, and equipment, grandma Hua, sitting in a high-back wheelchair surrounded by family members, slowly came to the
Yanagawa River in front of the hospital. Although it was only a short time for more than an hour. The warm time of Yanagawa wandering in the sunshine and breeze is like being in a country road with gurgling waterin Zhuolan, soothing the grandma'sHakkaheart❤️
